Mira is going to officially be a teenager in less than a month. Like most mommas of older kids, I daily ask where did the time go? Time seems to drag with little ones until they start school. But, when they start school, it just flies by! I never believed that when I was a toddler momma, but it’s so true. So, if you are in those diaper changing, cheerios feeding days, just hang in there. It will go by eventually and you’ll be on the other side, thinking, “How did this go so fast?”
After 13 years, she has collected a lot of stuff! Although we have moved twice during that time and regularly clean out her room and closets, there are so many keepsakes, pictures and other trinkets she has collected that I wouldn’t dare part with. As she grows and changes, so does her room.
So, Mira and I set out to organize her room a little more for 2016. We recently picked up several cute boxes from Michaels to organize all the surfaces in her room. I just adore the organization items they have in stock right now, and the colors perfectly matched Mira’s room. The boxes on her vanity were both from Michaels. We stacked up a few of her favorite books, along with a crystal geode rock.
The wood tone box on her bedside table might be my favorite of all the boxes. The box has divided sections inside, which make it ideal for jewelry storage. It also perfectly matches her favoriate frame, the DIY Lilly Pultizer Monogrammed Frame we made for her 11th birthday. We made these frames for about $1.00, but they are still some of our favorites!
Another great item for a teen girl room is little trays. This Lilly Pultizer Cassie Elephant pattern tray is great for corralling small items, like sunglasses and earrings. The “Love Never Fails” print is now available in our Etsy Shop.
